President Obama taped an exclusive video for Logo’s Trailblazer Honors tonight in New York City, praising Caitlyn Jenner for blazing the trail for transgender people on the most talked about Vanity Fair cover of the year.

In the video, Obama praises “ten years of extraordinary progress for our country” on issues such as gay marriage and transgender issues.

“Today the majority of Americans live in states where they can get married, no matter who they love,” he said. “Today ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ is history.”

Alluding to Jenner as an example, he continued:

“All you have to do is look at this month’s cover of Vanity Fair to see how America is more accepting of people for who they truly are.”
